About the Festival

The first annual Whittier Film Festival will be making its debut on March 7, 2008.

Our goal is to establish a respected film festival based in the Uptown Whittier area, which would become an annual celebration each spring. The Festival's mission is to foster community development and promote culture and the arts.
The films are not only intended to entertain, but more importantly, to educate and encourage active participation and creativity in our community.

Filmmakers from a variety of experience and talents are encouraged to submit their films. Films selected to be screened during the festival will be judged by a panel of filmmakers and industry representatives. Awards from a number of categories will be given to the films that display excellence in a variety of fields.
