The 2011 Academy Awards will be here before, you know, that’s why I’ve put together a short list of movies on the monitor. Many of them should receive a Best Picture nomination, while others get nods in categories such as Best Animated Film Best Actress. Although a number of Oscar-worthy films have not even been released, this choice should be given a list of must-see movie in theaters or on DVD and Blu-ray.
The Way Back – Although not a big issue is scheduled to continue until January 2011, the rear is already drawing raves by critics who saw the film festivals. Cast: Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Mark Strong, and Jim Sturgess, the film tells the true story of a soldier who escaped from a Siberian Gulag Second World War, and made the arduous journey to India and freedom. Farrell particular praise for the performance worked, and it is time that this talented actor gets an Oscar. Then again, Ed Harris also deserves a win here (he is nominated four times).
